An old-fashioned young lady, living with her flirtatious half-sister, falls in love with a local landowner.
Here is another novel by Sidgwick (see Novels 082, 142). It was not actually published during the Victorian period, but it is named for it—and it looks back on it with a sort of ambivalent nostalgia.
